new year, new colors
With the New Year approaching and a stubborn cold that I wanted to shake off, I decided it was time to move. Really, I couldn’t watch another comedy special. I watched them all. It was time to paint.

I started with the kitchen wall which is seen from the living room and dining nook.
Obviously, it’s not an exciting, eye-popping color. That’s OK. A muted base, in this case Benjamin Moore’s Knitting Basket, lets the focus go to the artwork which is pretty colorful. It’s usually easier to change up a room with a print or photo than with a pint of paint and the tools that go along with it (patience, roller, blue tape, sanding paper).
Of course, I had to go with the pink spackling material which dries white to let you know it’s ready for sanding.

Still on the to-do list are the living room walls (below). I’ll be going with Benjamin Moore’s Decorator’s White there, maybe with something more exciting to create an accent wall.
